The Ledger-Sentinel's Forum page provides our readers with a weekly
opportunity to express their opinions on topics of community interest.
Our rules for letters are as follows:
*Letters must be no more than 500 words long.
*Letters must be accompanied by the writer's full name, address, home telephone number and a telephone number where the writer can be reached during our day-time business hours. Only the author's name and city of residence will be printed with their letter.
*Letters written anonymously will be discarded.
*Letters containing poetry will not be considered for publication.
*We reserve the right to edit all letters for brevity and fairness and to withhold from publication letters that we determine to be either libelous, obscene, untrue, invade personal privacy, or personal attacks.
*Letters withheld from publication will not be accepted as copy for paid
advertisements.
*Elected and appointed public officials who write letters will be identified with their titles listed under their names. Officials who wish to write letters that are not necessarily representative of their agency's view should preface their letters accordingly.
*The deadline for letters to the editor is every Monday at 5 p.m. for each week's edition. In the event of a Monday holiday, the deadline for that week's edition is the preceding Friday at noon.
IN PERSON The Ledger-Sentinel office is located at 64 Main Street in downtown Oswego. Letters may be dropped off 24 hours a day in the convenient drop slot located in the office door.
