Oswego home invaded; victims refuse police interviews
7/24/2014

Victims of a home invasion in Oswego Tuesday morning are refusing to be interviewed by village police.

Police issued a statement describing the six victims as being uncooperative in the continuing investigation.

The home invasion occurred at a home in the 300 block of Hemlock Lane in the village's Ashcroft Place Subdivision at 6:02 a.m.

Police said four male African American suspects, some partially masked and brandishing handguns, forcibly entered the residence.

Home at the time of the incident were six individuals, including five males ranging in age from 17 to 21 and one female, approximately 40 years of age.

Police said the suspects threatened the occupants and physically battered two of them.

The suspects then took all of the victims' phones and keys and left the scene in a recently purchased 2010 white Audi Q7.

Police said the car has an Illinois registration of V701752.

The two battered occupants of the home declined to be transported to the hospital and were treated at the scene.

While conducting their investigation, police said a loaded handgun was recovered at the scene.

Police said they are working to find the owner of the handgun. None of the occupants of the home have claimed ownership of the handgun, according to police.

Police said based on their preliminary investigation they believe the home invasion to be an isolated incident "focused towards this home and its occupants."

Detectives and evidence technicians are continuing their investigation, according to police.

Ashcroft Place is located off Plainfield Road, about one mile south of Ill. Route 71.
