Congress should repeal their own insurance first
We noted that two weeks ago the Republican-controlled Congress passed its 40th bill intended to overturn the Affordable Care Act of 2010, aka "Obamacare." Like the other 39 bills passed by Congress over the past two years, this latest bill is expected to die a quiet death in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
Before they get to work on a 41st bill to rid us all of Obamacare, we believe the Republican lawmakers might want to try a slightly different approach. As the first step towards doing away with Obamacare, they should pass legislation stripping themselves and their families of their own government-provided health insurance. This would send a strong signal that the Republicans in Congress are not only serious but also sincere in their opposition to Obamacare.
