Montgomery Village Board members are continuing to attempt to refine their goals for the village and municipal government.
Board members participated in a second, one hour "visioning" meeting last Wednesday (Aug. 8) with their attorney, Steve Andersson, serving as facilitator.
The sessions are intended to help board members clarify their role, the role of village government and to identify specific tasks and goals they want village staff to accomplish.
During last week's one hour meeting, Andersson asked the five board members in attendance, Village President Marilyn Michelini and village department heads to identify the services and programs offered by the village's departments that they consider the most and least important.
Concluding the session, Andersson said he would prepare a written report on how the board ranked the services and programs.
"I will get it to you (the board) ahead of our next meeting so you'll have time to digest it," he said.
Andersson initially proposed the board discuss his report during a regular committee-of-the-whole meeting. But at the board's request, Andersson said next month's meeting to discuss his report will be an informal session-like the two prior meetings.
